Story

AWARE NI is the leading depression charity in Northern Ireland, dedicated to supporting individuals affected by depression and bipolar disorder. The organization works tirelessly to provide help, raise awareness, and reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions.

With an established network of 24 support groups across both rural and urban areas, the organisation ensures that people struggling with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder have a safe space to connect, share, and receive support. These groups are led by trained volunteers who offer guidance and understanding. Additionally, the charity extends support to carers who look after loved ones affected by these conditions, recognizing the challenges they face.

Beyond support groups, it is committed to proactive mental health education. The organization delivers a range of well-being and mental health programs in schools, colleges, universities, workplaces, and local communities throughout Northern Ireland. These initiatives aim to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to manage their mental health, build resilience, and seek help when needed.

Through advocacy, education, and direct support, AWARE Northern Ireland continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by depression and bipolar disorder, fostering a society where mental health is understood and supported.
